What are PRF fillers?
PRF fillers are biological fillers that we make in the office to help reduce volume loss wherever there are fine lines and wrinkles, improving facial contours. Fillers are gel-like substances injected beneath the skin. PRF fillers are created in the office using your PRF. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are bought from pharmaceutical companies and made of hyaluronic acid to provide volume. PRF fillers are very natural and safe to use, lasting anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
They may need to be repeated annually, but they improve cheek volume, marionette lines, and can be added to the chin. PRF fillers are extremely safe as no chemicals are injected into your face; everything is natural, using your own blood to provide volume. The facial areas they can treat include any areas lacking volume, commonly underneath the eyes, temples, and marionette lines.
Does getting PRF fillers hurt?
The process of getting PRF fillers is not uncomfortable. It's a strange feeling having something injected, but it's not painful. The only potentially painful moment is when the needle is inserted, but it's a very fine needle, and you hardly feel it. It's just an unusual sensation.
How much do PRF fillers cost?
The cost of PRF fillers varies depending on how many areas are treated. Usually, we combine PRF fillers with a bio care package, making it more cost-effective as it's included with your treatment. This package includes microneedling along with PRF, PRF fillers, and laser treatment, all provided as a complete package rather than itemized services.
Are there side effects to PRF fillers?
There are no side effects to the PRF fillers we use in the office because they are very safe, natural, and chemical-free. Injecting your own body's growth matrix is not harmful. Typically, we perform the bio care package for 3 consecutive months and can administer fillers at each visit or in one session annually.
Can PRF fillers be combined with other treatments?
PRF fillers can certainly be combined with other treatments, which we generally recommend. When we draw your blood, it's easy to use the PRF in its liquid form during a microneedling session. We inject the PRF into your skin and simultaneously use the gel-like substance created with PRF as biological fillers. Combining treatments is beneficial because your face heals simultaneously, and all the growth factors activate together, providing better results.
Are PRF fillers permanent?
PRF fillers are not permanent. Like skin, hair, and nails, they require constant maintenance. Fillers degrade over time and need upkeep. Although not permanent, they provide enhanced volume for an extended period.
Who is a good candidate for PRF fillers?
A good candidate is someone looking to increase facial volume, concerned about fine lines and wrinkles, and seeking a safer, more natural alternative to Botox. These patients are ideal candidates for biological fillers.
